In the words of the artist:
“Resilience began as a floral arrangement sketch during the stillness of the pandemic – a time when intention often met hesitation. Left untouched for years, the piece became a quiet reminder of paused momentum. Returning to it with purpose invited a deeper reflection on my creative process: bursts of intense focus, days of burnout, and the slow, patient unfolding of something alive. Starting with the bold, concentrated rendering of large, varied flowers at the bottom of the piece, the painting grows organically outward. Bolder strokes and vivid colors extend from the areas of longest labor, climbing like vines on the trellis of the original acrylic sketch. As the piece evolved into an oil painting, it took on a living quality. The white rose, in particular, emerges from the canvas with an almost magical presence— both delicate and powerful. In conversation with the theme, Gardens of Enchantment, Resilience becomes more than a floral piece, rather an expression of the ongoing process of growth through adversity; the quiet magic of persistence, and the beauty that blooms when we allow ourselves to begin again.”
