In the words of the artist:
“After surviving the war, during La Dolce Vita, my family managed to carve out a small niche in Rome's fashion world with nothing but a lucky ring to pawn. They never got the ring back and it made me wonder where did the ring go? The ring is a symbol of hope and I’ve imagined it bringing luck to everyone it has touched. The butterflies in this painting are on this journey spreading hope. Audrey Hepburn said, “Planting a garden means you believe in the future." This painting is about that enchanted garden that grows again after a time of darkness.”
